EE340 Dr. Mohammad S. Sharawi Computer Assignment II [3 pts] Read and understand the steps of the finite difference (FD) method for solving differential equations with boundary conditions numerically. This method is explained in section 14.3 (it was introduced in the laboratory as well). You need to use the FD method to implement the code in page 758-760 that plots the field lines of a microstrip transmission line over a dielectric substrate. You need to plot the field lines (equipotential lines) for three line widths and two substrate thicknesses (i.e. 6 cases) what are your observations? Use substrate thicknesses of 0.8mm and 1.56mm. For line widths use 1.5mm 2.5mm and 3.5mm. Use an excitation voltage of 5V. You need to provide a summary of the Finite Difference Method (i.e. steps and equations) and then present your results in figures in the report. Your complete code should be at the end of the report in an appendix. Make sure your code is clear. Also you need to send me a soft copy of the MATLAB code.
