Federal Rules of Evidence (FRE) prohibit the introduction ofcharacter evidence in regards to a defendants possible guilt. Thisprohibition also includes not allowing the introduction of evidenceof past criminal activity. In 1995 the FRE were amended andexceptions to the general rule were created (FRE 413 414 and415). Discuss those exceptions and why the court has seen fit tocreate them.
