Having completed the three exercises 1a (Hot and Cold) 1b (Big and Small) and 1C (Static and Dynamic) you should be able to identify what it is about certain spaces and places which you are drawn to and those which you are not. If you recall the aim of project of 1a was to encourage you to think consciously about context and to somehow convey or document experiential awareness of the urban environment. Project 2 is a design exercise which allows you to engage with a place such as a square with active frontages a city lane a small neighbourhood centre a small section of an activity strip of a main street or even a suburban pocket park which you feel requires improvement (it could even be one of the areas that you didnt like in project 1a).
