Leadership Competency Models A competency model is a set ofknowledge skills behaviors or attributes which defines what isneeded by a person to be effective in a particular leadershipposition. Chapter 7 of the course text introduces the concept ofcompetency models and provides an example of a leadershipcompetency model on page 253. Study the practice of competencymodeling and existing leadership competency models. Using theAshford University Library search for a minimum of three scholarlysources on competency models and develop a competency model for aparticular leadership position such as college president mayorcollege athletic coach or chief executive officer.
