One of the perspectives on why it has been difficult for South Asians to join forces to address social issues that affect them is drawn from the incident of 9/11. After the attack there were many practices that were put in place with the aim of fighting terrorism in America and in the world. This has led to the separation of the Muslims and the Arab men who are young in the United States and some of them were detained for questioning. The action has amounted to racial profiling in the streets levels for the minority who include the South Asians. The anti terror profiling has increased and flourished and it has led to discrimination and bias attacks. Due to the discrimination and the way the South Asians are treated after the attacks joining forces to address social issues has proved difficult among the South Asians.
