Raja Pharmaceuticals Company (RPC) recently revised itsperformance evaluation system. The company identified four majorgoals and several objectives required to meet each goal. Praksahcontroller of SPC suggested that a balanced scorecard be used toreport on progress toward meeting the objectives. At a recentmeeting he told the managers of SPC that listing the objectiveswas only the first step in installing a new performance measurementsystem. Each objective has to be accompanied by one or moremeasures to monitor progress toward achieving the objectives. Heasked the help of the managers in identifying appropriatemeasures.
