You mentioned the most important skill I believe every doctoral student should acquire in your post. According to Harris (2010) critical thinking is a complex combination of skills including rationalization self-awareness honesty open-mindednessdiscipline and judgment. Critical thinking will help one as doctoral student to recognize a wide range of subjective interpretations and use of objective data and to evaluate how well different interpretations fit the evidence. Critical thinkers are aware that facts may be facts but the way we interpret varies. In writing doctoral dissertation critical thinking involves asking appropriate questions gathering relevant information efficiently and creatively sorting through this information reasoning logically and reaching reliable and trustworthy conclusions in your work and in defending your dissertation. Applying critical thinking in our studies will help us to acquire understand and evaluate the great amount of new information that is not known and be able to apply it in our practice.
