Using the solubility chart given in class
and experiment #5 as a template design an experiment to distinguish between
the cations in the following five solutions:
NaNO3(aq)AgNO3(aq)Mg(NO3)2(aq)Ba(NO3)2(aq) Al(NO3)3(aq).The solutions are all clear and colourless.
You are only allowed to add aqueous solutions to the above in an effort to
identify the cations. Solutions you use
in your identification should not contain any of the cations you are trying to
identify. Explain how you would set up the experiment
and write complete molecular equations for all reactions that you predict will
occur.
