You (COTA) and I (OTR) have just been assigned a new patient a 36-year-old woman named Mary Sudden who was in a car accident and has resulting bruises and a fractured left ankle and humerus on which she wears a sling. She has been newly admitted to the rehab unit and while in the acute hospital received most of her ADL care from the nursing staff due to injuries. She has a lot of pain and frequently calls the nurses to ask for help. She makes sure to speak to the doctor every day about her progress and is observed speaking frequently to other patients in a friendly manner.
