The racking ispainted in a paint department where spent solvents made upprimarily of toluene xylenes and solids from the painting processare causing the company to be on the verge of becoming a largequantity generator. The Questions: 1. Discuss things (management-and/or technology-based controls) that could be done in theorganization to minimize the waste stream. 2. Given that you servein a staff function (you do not have direct supervisory authorityover anybody in the organization) what could you do to gain thecooperation from managers within the organization to address thisissue? 3. Discuss to what extent you believe the highest levels ofmanagement at the facility should be involved with thisinitiative.
