For at least the last 20 years moststate andlocal jurisdictions have begun institutionalizing ADR programs andproceduresfor a variety of case types. In many situations this has been theresult ofstatutory changes but with or without legislative action courtrules have beenimplemented in states across the United States to address how theaddition ofADR processes can supplement and sometimes replace court disputeresolution.
